The haze of learned helplessness and the right to take back your power
Powerful piece. And so wonderfully embodied by the "remote control." A strange note to add here is that my current TV Remote can also control my X Box. It's wild and makes me very uncomfortable. I don't know exactly how this fits your allegory here, but perhaps it can be viewed as empowering. The more confidently we wield and own our personal power, the more control we have over everything. I also want to admit that COVID helped me a lot with letting go of control, but at the same time, destroyed a lot of motivation. Currently, working to build back up to motivation with the added benefit of less need for control as I move through life.
